Meitner Audio MA3

The Meitner MA3 is a network DAC streamer designed to centralise all the digital sources of a hi-fi system. It integrates both a high-end D/A converter and a streaming module, allowing it to be connected directly to a power amplifier, an integrated amplifier or a pair of active speakers without an additional preamplification stage.

Conversion relies on discrete MDAC2 D/A converters, sampled at 16xDSD in a single-bit architecture, paired with the MDAT2 DSP which provides real-time transient detection and upsampling of incoming signals. The VControl volume control acts directly on the signal without requantisation, preserving signal resolution at all listening levels. The galvanically isolated USB interface works with MFAST technology paired with the MCLK2 clock to reduce jitter from all connected digital sources.

In terms of formats, the MA3 supports DSD128/2xDSD, DXD as well as MQA decoding. The network streaming module provides access to high-resolution services such as TIDAL and QOBUZ, as well as more common platforms such as Spotify or Deezer, in addition to the vTUNER app for internet radio. UPnP/DLNA compatibility allows playback of files stored on a NAS, while Roon Ready certification and the Roon Endpoint function allow full integration into a Roon system. Direct playback of files from a USB stick or hard drive is also possible.

This network player is aimed at high-end hi-fi systems looking to simplify their digital chain by combining D/A conversion, streaming and volume control within a single unit, controlled via the MControl HD app.
