The Meters OV-1-B is a closed-back wireless headphone featuring active noise cancellation (ANC), from the Meters brand, part of Ashdown Engineering. What to check before buying used
The earcup foam padding compresses and cracks over time, affecting the acoustic seal needed for ANC to work effectively: advanced wear impairs passive isolation as well as active noise cancellation. The built-in VU meter, a fragile mechanical component specific to this model, should be tested for proper operation when powered on. Also check the condition of the headband, whose covering can dry out or crack, and the actual battery life against the originally stated 16 hours.
