Description
The Bassocontinuo Accordéon XL4 2.1 is a high-end hi-fi rack designed to support and organise the components of an audio system. Its modular structure allows the unit to be configured with 2 to 5 shelves according to the needs of the installation, with each space between two levels (or between the floor and the first shelf) adjustable independently.
The structure is made of solid stainless steel, with independent 30 mm thick shelves and adjustable spikes allowing the unit to be levelled. The height between two shelves can be set to nine possible values, from 95 mm to 330 mm, allowing precise adaptation of the spacing to the height of each component, whether a slim player or a bulkier amplifier. The usable interior space of each shelf is 560 x 560 mm, with the top shelf offering a usable surface of 600 x 560 mm. The load capacity reaches 110 kg for the bottom shelf and 90 kg for the other levels, allowing the installation of heavy equipment such as turntables or power amplifiers. Decoupling is provided by elastomer washers placed under each shelf, complemented by a DSD under the base and four HDR (Harmonic Damper Resonator) units under each shelf, except the bottom one.
This rack is aimed at hi-fi enthusiasts who wish to build a scalable, bespoke system, adding or removing levels as their system evolves. Its modularity makes it a suitable support for both a compact two-component system and a more complete installation spread over five shelves, with components of different sizes.

What to check before buying used
The adjustable spikes under each shelf deserve a check: a seized thread or a missing spike prevents the unit from being levelled on an uneven floor. Also check that the full set of elastomer washers, the DSD under the base and the HDR units under each shelf are all present, as these decoupling elements are easily lost during disassembly. Finally, inspect the flatness and surface condition of the stainless steel: deep scratches, impact marks or slight deformation of the 30 mm shelves may appear after several house moves.
