Description
The Calypso 2.0 by Schroers & Schroers is a TV support column, designed to be installed from floor to ceiling using a spring-loaded fixing system. It allows a flat screen to be mounted without resorting to a low cabinet or a conventional wall mount, freeing up floor space around the television.
The support tube is a square aluminium profile of 80 x 80 mm, brushed for a satin finish. This column accommodates flat televisions up to 52 inches and supports a maximum load of 45 kg, which covers most screens of this size. The mount swivels through 360°, allowing the screen to be oriented according to seating position or room layout. A cable tunnel is built into the column, concealing the power and connectivity cables between the device and the sources.
The column is offered in a standard length of 300 cm, suited to rooms with a conventional ceiling height. It can be adjusted by professional installers during fitting, and custom lengths are available to order for non-standard configurations.

What to check before buying used
The spring-loaded fixing system and the profile's clamping collars deserve a careful inspection: any play or wear here can affect the column's stability. Also inspect the built-in cable tunnel, whose cover can become fragile or deformed over time, as well as the condition of the aluminium's brushed finish, which is prone to scratches and surface oxidation. Test the 360° rotation to check for any binding points or excessive play in the pivot mechanism.
