The 105 Silva is a wired open-back Hi-Fi headphone from Meze Audio. It is an over-ear headphone designed for sedentary listening, to be connected to an amplifier or a source fitted with a headphone output, the open-back configuration deliberately allowing part of the sound to pass outward in order to favour a sense of space and naturalness.

What to check before buying used
On these open-back headphones, the earcup pads deserve close inspection: the foam compresses and cracks over time, which alters the acoustic seal and can allow more sound to leak through. Check the headband and the walnut wood joints, which are prone to cracking and play at the metal fittings. Also test both 3.5 mm TS jack plugs as well as the detachable cable, the points most exposed to wear on this type of wired headphone.
