Description
The Meze Audio Manta is a headphone stand designed to hold and display over-ear or on-ear headphones when not in use. Its shape draws inspiration from marine life forms and fits into a listening setup or desk as a design piece in its own right, rather than a simple functional storage accessory.
The body of the stand is made from die-cast zinc alloy, finished with a matte black powder coating. The headrest, in PU leather, completes this structure to provide a surface suited to contact with the headband of the headphones. At the base, three silicone contact points ensure the stability of the whole unit on furniture while preventing scratches on the surface it rests on.
A distinctive feature of the Manta is its foldable tab, positioned at the rear of the stand. Once unfolded, it allows the headphone cable to be wound around it, which limits clutter and tangling when the unit is set down.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the matte black powder coating on the zinc alloy: handling knocks leave visible chips, especially on the edges of the die-cast body. Examine the PU leather headrest, which can crack or peel over time and with exposure to light. Also check the three silicone contact points under the base, whose grip diminishes as they harden, and test the folding tab mechanism to make sure it unfolds and folds back without excessive play.
