Mission MX-3

The Mission MX-3 is a compact floorstanding speaker, the first floorstanding model in the MX range. It extends bass response compared with the bookshelf speakers in the same series, while keeping a contained footprint.

The woofer reaches down to 48 Hz, an extension considered sufficient for domestic Hi-Fi listening. As with the MX-1 and MX-2 models, the woofer is placed above the tweeter, which preserves the spatial coherence of the sound. The MX-3 uses two woofers instead of one, which raises its output to 89 dB compared with 86 dB for the MX-1 and MX-2: for the same electrical power, it can therefore produce a sound level twice as high as its smaller siblings.

The result when listening is a lively and engaging presentation, with bass that retains punch and a fine, detailed treble.

This floorstanding speaker is aimed at those seeking a compromise between limited footprint and musical scale, without moving to a larger floorstanding model. It will suit a medium-sized living room as well as a dedicated listening room where floor space remains limited.
