Description
The Bronze 5 is a 2.5-way floorstanding speaker from Monitor Audio, offered here in Walnut finish. It combines a dome tweeter with two 140 mm drivers to cover the full sound spectrum in a slender cabinet, designed to fit into a living room without taking up excessive space.
The 25 mm C-CAM Gold tweeter handles treble reproduction, while the two 140 mm C-CAM drivers with a concave profile share the midrange-bass and bass roles, each housed in its own acoustic chamber. What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the suspensions on both 140 mm C-CAM drivers: excessive softness or a crack indicates ageing that affects the bass. Inspect the dome of the C-CAM Gold tweeter, which is sensitive to knocks and deformation, as well as the front and rear HiVe II ports, which must remain free of any obstruction.
