The Music Hall MMF 2.3 is a belt-driven turntable built around three elements deemed essential by the manufacturer: the main bearing, the motor and the tonearm. This streamlined approach aims to concentrate build quality on the components that directly influence sound reproduction, rather than multiplying secondary functions.

The asynchronous motor is mechanically isolated from the chassis to limit the transmission of vibrations to the platter and cartridge. The platter itself sits on a high-quality bearing that ensures smooth, quiet rotation. Speed changes between 33 and 45 rpm are carried out manually, by moving the belt on the drive pulley. The stated figures, a speed variation of ± 0.18% and wow and flutter of ±0.11%, reflect good rotational stability, while a background noise level of -68 dB indicates quiet operation.

The straight tonearm, sourced from Pro-Ject, is made from a single piece of lightweight, rigid alloy, which limits the risk of mechanical play or unwanted resonance. Its effective length of 8.6 inches (218.5 mm) and overhang of 18.5 mm define the tracking geometry specific to this model. The turntable comes fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet cartridge, pre-mounted and aligned at the factory, whose stylus can be replaced by the user as it wears. The anti-resonance alloy platter is covered with a felt mat, and the package includes a dust cover along with a 45 rpm record adaptor.
