Description
The C 368 belongs to NAD's family of stereo integrated amplifiers, designed to take on the role of preamplifier, power amplifier and source-switching hub all in one. It forms the central point of a hi-fi system: connect the speakers on one side, all your sources on the other, and the setup is complete.
Its power stage uses Class D, a switching topology whose high efficiency limits heat dissipation and allows a generous power reserve to be fitted into a traditionally sized chassis. This reserve makes itself heard: it gives the unit the headroom needed to control less accommodating speakers and to reproduce level swings without the sound closing in during dense passages.
The connectivity covers both current and older sources. The moving magnet phono input accepts a turntable directly without an external preamplifier, while the USB, coaxial and optical digital inputs accept a computer, player or television. Bluetooth connectivity rounds out the package and works both ways: receiving from a smartphone as a source, or transmitting to a wireless speaker.

What to check before buying used
On this Class D amplifier, test for heat build-up during prolonged listening at high volume and check for the absence of background noise or distortion at low levels, a sign of a tired power stage. Check that all inputs work correctly, particularly the Bluetooth module and the optional Bluesound network card if the unit is fitted with one. Operate the volume knob and front-panel buttons to rule out any crackling or intermittent contact indicating a dirty potentiometer.
