The NorStone Oslo 1200 is a hi-fi furniture unit designed to organise a complete vinyl set-up in a single module. It combines record storage space with a dedicated location for audio electronics, within a melamine structure.
The unit rests on three drawers fitted with an anti-slip system, each able to hold up to 80 vinyl records, giving a total capacity of 240 vinyl records for the whole unit. This anti-slip lining keeps sleeves in place when opening and closing, limiting repeated friction on the covers.
Above the drawers, a double niche measuring 893 x 128 x 400 mm, divided into two spaces of 44.6 cm each, allows a turntable, amplifier or preamplifier to be housed. This niche supports a maximum load of 30 kg, as does the top shelf, which measures 93 cm wide by 40 cm deep. Each drawer, meanwhile, can support up to 50 kg. What to check before buying used
Melamine is prone to chipping on the edges and damp marks at the base: inspect the drawer edges and the bottom of the niche. The anti-slip system on the drawers can deteriorate or come away over time, so it is worth checking that it still adheres and cushions the opening properly. Also check that the three drawers slide smoothly under load, as well as the stability of the brackets and assembly screws, which bear the weight of the records.
