Description
The Square HiFi from NorStone is a hifi unit designed to accommodate both an audiophile setup and a home cinema system. Its role is to house and showcase the components of a hifi or video system, while providing the stability required for sensitive equipment such as a turntable.
The unit combines 19 mm tempered glass shelves with brushed aluminium columns, giving it a light and airy silhouette. Each shelf rests on decoupling spikes, a system that limits the transmission of vibrations between levels and contributes to the stability of the unit as a whole, an important point when a turntable is placed on one of the shelves. Its square architecture reinforces this stability.
All the elements of the Square HiFi are independent of one another. This modular design allows the unit to be arranged and adapted according to needs, adding or reorganising shelves as new equipment is acquired.
This unit is aimed at those who wish to organise a hifi or home cinema setup made up of several components, turntable, amplifier, player, within a unit with a contemporary look capable of fitting into different interior styles.
What to check before buying used
The tempered glass shelves should be free of cracks, chips on the edges or deep scratches, particularly at the contact points where the decoupling spikes rest. Check that all these spikes are present and securely fitted beneath each shelf, as their loss would compromise vibration decoupling and the stability of a turntable. Also inspect the brushed aluminium columns for knocks, oxidation or damaged threads, as well as the overall flatness of the unit once assembled.
