Description
The NuPrime AMG DAC is a preamplifier that builds on the AMG PRA model, adding digital inputs and an output as well as a built-in DAC. It thus combines analogue preamplification and digital-to-analogue conversion functions within a single unit.
Conversion is handled by an ESS9038Q2M chip, capable of decoding DSD256 files as well as the MQA format. This compatibility allows high-resolution digital sources to be played directly without going through a separate external DAC, retaining MQA decoding right through to the end of the chain.
This preamplifier is aimed at those wishing to simplify their setup by combining preamplification and digital conversion in a single unit, particularly for modern digital sources using DSD or MQA.
