Description
The Oehlbach 1002 is a speaker cable designed to connect a HiFi amplifier or receiver to loudspeakers. It is a passive connecting cable, with no on-board electronics, whose role is to transmit the amplified audio signal from the amplifier's output terminals to the speakers' inputs.
Its 2 x 0.75 mm² gauge corresponds to a standard-sized cable, designed for installations of moderate power. The source datasheet states a maximum power of 40 watts per channel, which places this cable in a typical domestic HiFi use rather than in high-power configurations.

What to check before buying used
Check that the connectors (banana plugs, spade connectors or bare wires) are free of oxidation and firmly crimped, as a poor connection can cause signal loss or intermittent noise. Inspect the sheath along its entire length for cuts, crush marks or sharp kinks, particularly at the ends near the connectors, which are the areas most subject to strain during handling. Also ensure that the gauge remains 0.75 mm² per strand and that both channels are of identical length to preserve stereo balance.
