The 1321 XXL Ivory Emotion is not a finished cable but a standalone HDMI plug, sold to be fitted onto the cable by the user. It is aimed at those who prefer to prepare their video connections to the exact length of the run rather than bundling up excess cable behind a unit or inside trunking. Oehlbach designed it to accompany its HDMI cable referenced 1322, with which it forms a coherent set.

Its distinctive feature lies in the connection method: contact is made by clamping, with no soldering required whatsoever. In practical terms, no iron, no solder and no thermal preparation of the conductors are needed, which makes the assembly accessible to a careful installer without a dedicated workshop and avoids the risk of solder bridges on very closely spaced pins. The housing is made of metal, a material chosen for the mechanical strength of the assembly once the plug is closed around the cable. The pins, meanwhile, receive a 24-carat gold plating, a treatment intended to preserve contact quality over time.

This type of plug is suited to installations where the cable must be routed before being terminated: passing through a partition wall, running through trunking, concealed wiring for a projector or wall-mounted screen, or a rack cable run.
