The Anna Diamond is a moving coil (MC) cartridge from Ortofon, designed to equip high-end tonearms. It stands out through its use of an all-diamond cantilever, paired with an Ortofon Replicant 100 stylus tip, a rare choice that positions it among the brand's most accomplished models.
The diamond cantilever, an extremely rigid material, limits mechanical deformation when tracking the groove and promotes faithful reproduction of the cut signal. The Replicant 100 tip, with r/R radii of 5/100 µm, is designed to closely follow the groove profile. The lateral dynamic compliance of 9 µm/mN and the recommended tracking force of 2.4 g determine the tuning with the tonearm. The internal impedance of 6 ohms requires a compatible MC phono stage, with a recommended load impedance above 10 ohms. What to check before buying used
The Replicant 100 tip and diamond cantilever are fragile elements that require careful handling when fitting and adjusting azimuth. On a used unit, the stylus should be checked under magnification for wear or a flat spot, along with the integrity of the cantilever, which cannot withstand any impact.
