Description
The Concorde Music Bronze is a moving magnet (MM) cartridge based on the Concorde format, originally designed to be mounted on a tonearm without screws or wires thanks to an integrated SME connector. It fits directly onto tonearms compatible with this standard, without any complex adjustment relating to body fitting.
The stylus is fitted with a Nude Line Contact tip mounted on an aluminium cantilever, a combination intended to more finely retrieve the modulations cut into the groove. The generating system relies on four coils mounted on split-pole pieces (2+ and 2-), wound in oxygen-free silver-plated copper, for an output voltage of 6 mV. Frequency response is stated as +2/-0 dB, with channel separation of 26 dB at 1 kHz and channel balance of 1 dB at the same frequency. The dynamic lateral compliance of 15 μm/mN and the recommended tracking force of 1.8 g point its use towards tonearms with adjustments compatible with these values.

What to check before buying used
The stylus is the element to examine first: the Line Contact tip and aluminium cantilever are exposed to knocks and wear, and a worn tip degrades treble reproduction without this always being immediately audible. Also check the condition of the rubber suspension, which can harden or lose elasticity over time, altering the stated compliance and therefore the tonearm's behaviour. The SME connector and output pins also deserve a visual check, as this interface point is used every time the cartridge is mounted on a different tonearm.
