Description
This moving-magnet (MM) cartridge delivers an output level of 4 mV, intended for a Phono MM preamplifier input. The frequency response extends from 20 to 20,000 Hz, with a stated bandwidth of 20 to 25,000 Hz. At 1 kHz, the channel balance is 2 dB and channel separation reaches 22 dB; this separation drops to 15 dB at 15 kHz. The tracking ability at 315 Hz is 65 µm, for a lateral compliance of 20 µm/mN.
The stylus, of elliptical shape, has a diamond radius r/R of 8/18 µm and a tracking angle of 20°. The recommended tracking force is 17.5 mN, within an admissible range of 15 to 20 mN. Electrically, the cartridge shows an internal impedance of 750 Ohm and an internal inductance of 450 mH; the recommended load impedance is 47 kΩ, with a recommended load capacitance of between 200 and 600 pF (reference stated for 1000 Hz, 5 cm/sec). It weighs 5 g. A replacement stylus is available under the reference Diamant 5E.
