The Quintet Blue is a moving magnet (MM) cartridge from Ortofon, designed to be fitted to a tonearm on a turntable. It belongs to the Danish manufacturer's Quintet range, alongside the Red and Bronze versions, with a sonic character of its own.
Its stylus is a Nude Fine Line mounted on an aluminium cantilever, a pairing that favours precise groove tracking and the reproduction of fine detail cut into the vinyl. Also check the condition of the connection pins and the cartridge body, which are prone to damage during the mounting or removal of a tonearm. The recommended capacitive load and tracking force values should remain consistent with the original specifications in order to preserve the sonic balance intended by Ortofon.
