Description
The Continental 5S V2 is a USB link cable from Oyaide, designed to transmit a digital audio signal between a source and a converter or interface. It belongs to the range of so-called "audiophile" cables, designed to limit losses and interference on a digital link.
The power conductor uses an AWG22 wire in PCOCC copper, a continuous casting process recognised for its homogeneous crystalline structure, which is intended to promote a more consistent transmission of current. The cable combines a copper and silk covering, for both the signal strand and the power strand, a combination aimed at limiting microphonic effects and improving mechanical durability over time. The connectors are made of copper, with a silver plating followed by rhodium plating, two treatments that improve surface conductivity and the contacts' resistance to oxidation.
