Description
The Founder 100F is a 3-way floorstanding speaker from Paradigm, built around five drivers arranged on a single baffle. It combines a dome tweeter, a midrange driver and three woofers to reproduce the full sound spectrum with a clear separation between registers.
The tweeter is a 25 mm aluminium-magnesium-ceramic dome, paired with a spheroid waveguide and a perforated phase alignment lens designed to make treble dispersion more uniform throughout the room. The midrange relies on a 152 mm AL-MAG cone, while the bass is handled by three 177 mm ultra-high-excursion CARBON-X unibody cones. Frequency response is rated at ± 2 dB from 42 Hz to 23 kHz on-axis, with low-frequency extension down to 26 Hz. Sensitivity is 93 dB in-room and 90 dB anechoic, with an impedance of 8 ohms compatible with a wide range of amplifiers, recommended power being 15 to 350 watts, with a maximum input power of 250 watts.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the surrounds on the three CARBON-X woofers, which are subjected to their ultra-high excursion, as well as the integrity of the AL-MAC tweeter dome, which is sensitive to knocks and dents. Checking the finish of the cabinet and the fixing of the drivers to the baffle also helps to ensure that the 32.7 kg weight has not caused any deformation during transport or storage.
