The Founder 120H is a 3-way floorstanding speaker from Paradigm, designed to reproduce an audio signal with a high level of detail and wide dynamics. It fits into a demanding hi-fi or home cinema system, as the main speaker of a stereo or multichannel installation.
Its configuration is based on four drivers spread across three ways. The tweeter is a 25 mm aluminium-magnesium-ceramic (AL-MAC) dome, paired with an oblate spheroid waveguide (OSW) that directs the dispersion of the treble. The midrange uses a 152 mm AL-MAG cone with ultra-high excursion, while the bass is handled by three 215 mm CARBON-X monobloc drivers with very high excursion, capable of producing deep bass.
The stated frequency response spans from 22 Hz to 23 kHz (± 2 dB), with a low-frequency extension measured at 18 Hz according to the DIN standard, reflecting a particularly extended bass reproduction for a floorstanding speaker. The sensitivity of 95 dB allows a high sound level to be achieved with moderate amplification power, the unit accepting a maximum power of 300 W at an impedance of 8 ohms.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the suspensions on the three CARBON-X bass drivers and the AL-MAG midrange, as their flexibility affects bass reproduction and can deteriorate over time. It is also useful to check the integrity of the ceramic tweeter dome, which is sensitive to impact, as well as the absence of play or deformation on the surrounding OSW waveguide.
