Description
The Paradigm Millenia Sub is a subwoofer designed to fit into spaces where a traditional subwoofer would struggle to find a place. Its all-aluminium chassis adopts an ultra-slim design that breaks with the usual dimensions of this type of speaker, while still providing the rigidity required for the driver to operate.
Amplification is handled by a Class D module, a technology recognised for its energy efficiency and compactness, which directly contributes to the slimness of the cabinet. The subwoofer also incorporates a WiFi module, which limits the cabling required to the power supply alone: the audio link with the rest of the system is established without any additional cable runs. It is also compatible with the PBK calibration kit, allowing the bass response to be adjusted to the room's acoustics.
Its shape and distinctive design allow for several installation options: wall mounting, but also positioning beneath a sofa or a low piece of furniture, depending on the constraints of the room. What to check before buying used
The ultra-slim aluminium chassis, often installed beneath a sofa or piece of furniture, may show signs of impact or scuffing on the underside of the cabinet: an inspection of the hidden surfaces is advisable. The Class D module and WiFi connection should be tested under real conditions to rule out any wireless connection faults or unwanted standby behaviour. Also check that the PBK calibration kit is still recognised by the unit, as some units lose their software pairing after a reset or a change of owner.
