Description
The Paradigm Premier 520LCR v2 is a versatile speaker intended for left, centre or right installation within a home cinema setup. Its sealed-box design allows for cabinet or free-standing installation, making it easier to integrate into furniture or constrained spaces without compromising sound reproduction.
At the heart of this speaker is a 15 cm AL-MAG coaxial midrange driver, paired with a perforated PPA lens, which brings together the point of emission of the midrange and tweeter. This 25 mm aluminium-magnesium-ceramic dome tweeter benefits from an OSW waveguide, an arrangement that promotes soundstage coherence and precise localisation of dialogue and effects, regardless of listening position relative to the speaker's axis.
Two 15 cm Carbon-X woofers with ART suspension complete the system and handle the bass, with a stated extension down to 50 Hz on DIN measurement. Frequency response spans 75 Hz to 23 kHz at -3 dB on axis. Sensitivity reaches 93 dB in a typical room and 90 dB in an anechoic chamber, with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms compatible with amplifiers delivering between 15 and 120 W.

What to check before buying used
The ART suspensions of the two Carbon-X woofers warrant a visual check: look for sagging, cracking or hardening of the surround, signs of ageing that affect bass reproduction. Also check the integrity of the perforated PPA lens and the tweeter dome, both exposed to impact, as well as the condition of the cabinet and the connectors on the rear panel. A test at moderate volume will help detect any unusual noise or distortion localised to one of the three drivers.
