Description
The Premier 820B v2 is a three-way floorstanding speaker with bass-reflex loading designed by Paradigm. It is placed at the front of a stereo or home cinema setup and handles the entire sound spectrum on its own, from low to high frequencies, without requiring a separate subwoofer.
Its configuration combines two 18 cm Carbon-X woofers with ART suspension, a 15 cm AL-MAG cone midrange driver fitted with a perforated PPA lens, and a 25 mm aluminium-magnesium-ceramic dome tweeter paired with an OSW waveguide. This three-way arrangement allows each driver to focus on a narrower frequency range, which limits distortion and refines the reproduction of detail. What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the suspensions on both Carbon-X woofers: hardened, cracked or detached foam or rubber directly affects bass reproduction. Also inspect the midrange's perforated PPA lens and the tweeter dome, which are fragile and prone to damage from impacts or unprotected handling. Finally, examine the cabinet (veneer, corners, feet) and the condition of the bass-reflex ports, ruling out any unit showing sagging or unusual noise at low volume.
