Description
The Dual CS 618 Q is a direct-drive turntable designed for playing 33, 45 and 78 rpm records. The platter is driven directly by the motor, without an intermediate belt, ensuring stable and consistent rotation from start-up.
The tonearm is based on a gimbal design, a mounting that reduces friction and improves groove tracking across the entire surface of the record. The originally fitted cartridge is an Ortofon 2M Blue, a model with a wide frequency response that reproduces the detail of vinyl recordings. Speed fluctuation is rated at less than ±0.07% (weighted measurement to DIN standard), an indicator of the platter's consistency during playback.
The turntable features an automatic stop function combined with automatic tonearm lift at the end of playback, which limits prolonged contact between the stylus and the run-out groove and reduces wear over time.
