The fact.12 Signature is a three-way floorstanding speaker from PMC, developed through refinement of the most popular models in the fact range and incorporating components derived from the flagship fenestria model. It is built around the brand's own ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) technology, combined with a tri-amplified architecture designed to reproduce music with transparency across a wide range of listening levels.
The configuration is based on two 140 mm super-long-throw fact woofers, a 50 mm soft dome midrange driver cooled by ferro-fluid, and a 19 mm SONOMEX soft dome high-resolution tweeter, also ferro-fluid cooled. The crossover frequencies are set at 400 Hz and 4 kHz, dividing the workload between the three drive units for improved definition across each register. Frequency response extends from 26 Hz to 30 kHz, covering deep bass through to extended treble. What to check before buying used
On this three-way floorstanding speaker, inspect the suspensions and domes of both woofers as well as the soft dome midrange driver: sagging, tearing or detachment will impair the ATL loading and deep bass performance. Also check the 19 mm SONOMEX tweeter, which is sensitive to knocks affecting the high crossover at 4 kHz, and the condition of the cooling ferro-fluid, which can dry out over time.
