The Prophecy 1 is a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker, designed and hand-built in Britain by PMC. It incorporates the brand's proprietary ATL bass loading technology, paired with the LaminairX airflow system, intended to optimise bass behaviour within a compact volume.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the 125 mm woofer's suspension: sagging or a crack in the mineral cone impairs bass performance and may require reconditioning. Also check the integrity of the tweeter's soft dome, which is prone to accidental dents, as well as the magnetic fixing of the grilles and the condition of the cabinetwork (edges, corners, veneer), which easily marks real wood finishes. Test each speaker separately to rule out any hum or distortion indicating a fault in the internal wiring.
