Description
The Prophecy C is a Bass Reflex type centre speaker designed by PMC for home cinema and multichannel installations. It occupies the centre position of a speaker system, tasked with reproducing dialogue and voices with precision, while integrating with the full set of channels for music and film.
This speaker features the Advanced Transmission Line bass loading system found throughout the Prophecy range, in a more elaborate version. The two midrange/woofer drivers are positioned at different points along the folded transmission line, an arrangement that reduces coloration in the vocal region and improves integration with the tweeter. The LaminairX system, vented on the front baffle, allows placement close to a wall without degrading the speaker's behaviour.
The Prophecy C is aimed at users looking to build or complete a multichannel installation with demanding vocal clarity requirements, for home cinema as well as multichannel music listening. Its compact design makes it easy to integrate into a cabinet or position near a wall, without requiring a very high-power amplifier.

What to check before buying used
Check that neither driver on the transmission line has a cracked surround or a dented cone, particularly the one located near the front LaminairX vent, which is exposed to knocks and dust. The tweeter dome must remain intact, with no fingerprints or deformation. Also examine the cabinet around the ventilation slots and the satin nickel binding posts, which can dull or become loose over time.
