Description
The Powergrip YG-3 is a mains conditioner designed to power and protect a hi-fi or audiovisual installation. Its front panel features a novel multifunction screen and seven touch keys allowing the unit to be controlled and configured directly from the front panel.
On its rear panel, the YG-3 offers twelve filtered Schuko power sockets, delivering up to 16 amps and arranged into six separate groups. The maximum rated power output is 3680 W at an input voltage of 220 V to 240 V. The unit incorporates protection against overvoltages and high voltages, together with customisable filtering technology and dedicated protection for aerial cables via an IN/OUT aerial socket. A wide operating voltage range completes this electrical protection.
The YG-3 can also be controlled remotely via a mobile application working over Wi-Fi, and offers RS232 management inputs/outputs as well as an optional Ethernet connection, for integration into professional control systems. The display screen can be customised in terms of colours, styles and fonts, and dimmed or switched off as required.
In terms of additional connectivity, the unit has two USB sockets for 5V 2A charging, a gold-plated earth socket and a Trigger IN/OUT socket. A 19-inch rack mounting kit is included, making it easier to integrate into an equipment rack.
This type of unit is aimed at those wishing to protect a HiFi or video system comprising several elements sensitive to mains disturbances, and who are looking for precise control over the power supply and protection of their installation, for advanced domestic or semi-professional use.

What to check before buying used
Test each group of Schuko sockets and check that the mains filtering does not cut out unexpectedly under heavy load. Check the IN/OUT aerial socket as well as the Trigger IN/OUT ports, which can sometimes be oxidised or worn on a heavily used unit. Also check that the front touchscreen works correctly and that the Wi-Fi connection for control via the mobile application functions properly.
