Primare I25 Prisma

The I25 Prisma is a network integrated amplifier from Primare, designed to serve as a single control centre for a hi-fi system. It combines a Class D amplification platform with a digital-to-analogue conversion module and a network streaming module, bringing together amplification, DAC and wireless connectivity in a single unit.

The amplification section delivers 2 x 100 watts into 8 ohms, with a bandwidth covering 20 Hz to 20 kHz at -0.2 dB, a signal-to-noise ratio above 100 dB and a distortion rate below 0.05 %, values that reflect a clean and well-controlled reproduction of the signal. Digital-to-analogue conversion relies on an ESS Sabre ES9068A DAC, capable of handling PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD256 as well as MQA decoding, allowing high-resolution files to be listened to without any quality loss ahead of amplification.

On the connectivity side, the unit integrates AirPlay, Bluetooth, Chromecast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect as well as the UPnP/DLNA protocol, allowing streaming from almost all services and streaming apps without any additional hardware. The asynchronous USB port also provides a dedicated digital input for a computer source. The analogue and digital connectivity includes five RCA inputs, four optical inputs, two coaxial inputs, two RCA outputs and one coaxial output, along with two speaker outputs serving a pair of speakers.

This model is aimed at a user wishing to simplify a hi-fi system by centralising amplification, digital conversion and network streaming in a single unit, without multiplying peripheral boxes. It is suited both to listening via streaming services and to playing files stored on a network or via USB, for a pair of speakers with a sensitivity compatible with a power output of 100 watts into 8 ohms.
