Pro-Ject

The X8 Evolution Superpack is a belt-drive turntable from Pro-Ject, positioned at the top of the X-line range. It incorporates technical elements taken directly from the Xtension 9 and 10 models, while remaining more accessible within this family of mass-loaded turntables.

The platter, forged from a single piece of aluminium and then balanced, rests on a bearing whose load is lightened by a neodymium magnet, which limits friction and parasitic vibrations transmitted to the signal. The solid MDF chassis provides a stable, low-resonance base. The Pro-Ject 9cc EVO tonearm, a 9-inch monobloc carbon fibre design, equips the X8 for precise groove tracking. Unlike the Xtension 9 and 10, whose vinyl platter limits adjustment options, the X8 retains a standard interchangeable mat, allowing the sound to be adjusted depending on the mat used. Audio output is via a semi-balanced 5-pin to RCA cable, with the possibility of upgrading to a fully balanced configuration by changing the cable and phono stage.
