Description
The Pro-Ject The Classic EVO is a turntable that succeeds The Classic model, which was distinguished by an EISA award. It retains the overall architecture of its predecessor while incorporating several developments derived from the 175 - Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer, notably in the sub-platter and main bearing system.
The sub-chassis has been reworked to gain in mass and rigidity, with the aim of reducing resonances and isolating the platter and tonearm from vibrations generated by the motor and the plinth. The tonearm adopts a carbon-aluminium sandwich construction, with the carbon providing rigidity and speed of response, and the aluminium contributing to damping. Its bearing, of the same type as that fitted to the Pro-Ject CC EVO tonearms, allows friction-free vertical and horizontal movement for precise groove tracking throughout playback. An electronic speed change at the press of a button completes the package.
