Pro-Ject X1B

The Pro-Ject X1 B is a belt-driven turntable, designed for playing records at 33, 45 and 78 rpm with electronic speed change. It stands out for its fully balanced mini-XLR output, known as "True Balanced Connexion", complemented by a conventional unbalanced RCA output, offering compatibility with different types of audio systems.

The tonearm, 218.5 mm long and weighing 10 g, is made from carbon-aluminium in a single piece, without a separate headshell, which limits parasitic resonances liable to alter sound reproduction. The turntable is supplied with a pre-mounted Pick it S2 MM cartridge, whose output voltage of 5.5 mV and channel separation greater than 25 dB at 1 kHz allow for precise and detailed playback. Its frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 24,000 Hz.

The platter, made of anti-resonance acrylic 20 mm thick, rests on a stainless steel bearing with a brass bushing and Teflon mirrors. The motor suspension, revised to improve vibration decoupling between the motor, the tonearm and the chassis, contributes to quiet operation. The absorbing feet in aluminium and TPE also help with the mechanical isolation of the unit.
