Q Acoustics Concept 90

The Concept 90 is a 2-way bass-reflex centre speaker, designed to ensure the reproduction of dialogue and voices within a Home Cinema installation. It combines two 125 mm midrange/woofer drivers with a 25 mm tweeter to cover the entire vocal and instrumental spectrum.

The cabinet is built on a double-thickness structure incorporating GelCore technology, designed to reduce cabinet noise at high frequencies. The isolation base limits external and internal vibrations, while all the drivers are fixed to the aluminium front baffle with pre-tensioned rods, which ensures acoustic sealing and dampens vibrations by reducing structural coupling with the main cabinet. The tweeter, meanwhile, is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating mounted) from the front baffle, in order to protect it from internal resonances generated by the midrange/woofer drivers. The crossover is mounted on the isolation base, away from the electromagnetic fields radiated by the drivers, to limit microphonic effects. With a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 Ω, it accepts amplifiers with a power output of 25 to 150 W; its frequency response extends from 67 Hz to 30 kHz, with a crossover frequency set at 2.1 kHz and distortion below 0.2% between 120 Hz and 20 kHz.

This centre speaker is aimed at those building a Home Cinema installation with demanding requirements for vocal clarity, alongside main speakers and a subwoofer, and who want a model designed to limit the parasitic resonances typical of centre speakers placed flat.
