The Artera Mono is a monophonic power amplifier from Quad, intended to be used in pairs for a mono bi-amplified configuration. It delivers 300 watts into 8 ohms per channel and is aimed at systems requiring substantial power reserve to control demanding speakers.
Its operation relies on the current dumping technology developed by Quad: a low-power class AB stage reproduces the detail of the signal, while a high-power current dumping section takes over to maintain control of the speakers. This principle removes the need for internal adjustments or alignments and limits crossover distortion and thermal drift issues. The bandwidth extends from 20 Hz to 90 kHz (+0 dB, -3 dB), the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds -112 dB (IEC-A) and the total harmonic distortion remains below 0.006% at 100 W. The unit incorporates comprehensive overload protection without resorting to fuses or relays on the output line, with instant recovery after a fault.
