Description
The Duo i is a stereo tabletop radio fitted with an iPod dock connector, designed by Boston Acoustics as a successor to the Duo. It combines radio listening, iPod playback and an alarm clock function within a single unit, designed for use on a bedside table or in a living room.
The AM/FM tuner offers good reception sensitivity and can store up to fifteen stations, split into ten FM presets and five AM presets. Sound is delivered by two 89 mm full-range speakers, with bass balanced through BassTrac technology, for dynamic reproduction suited to close-range listening. The dock accommodates any iPod fitted with a dock connector and also provides a composite video output for compatible models.
The alarm clock function includes two independent alarms, which can be set to wake to the radio or a buzzer, with progressive volume and a snooze function allowing the alarm to be delayed by ten minutes, then in five-minute increments, up to sixty minutes. The alarm is switched off with a simple touch of the metal trim surrounding the unit. Built-in memory retains the time and settings made.
