The REL No.31 is an active subwoofer designed to complement high-end hi-fi or home cinema installations. It features a single 305 mm carbon fibre driver, powered by a Class D amplifier delivering 900 W RMS. This architecture aims to deliver deep, controlled bass while maintaining a more compact footprint than the brand's larger models.
The frequency response extends down to 17 Hz at -6 dB, covering the lowest frequencies of the audible spectrum, useful for both music and low-frequency effects in a home cinema setup. What to check before buying used
The driver's carbon fibre chassis should be examined from all angles for cracks or impact marks, as a weakened area could affect the cone's performance at high amplitudes. The Speakon and XLR connectors are worth checking for secure mechanical fit, as is the 0-180° phase switch, whose proper operation is essential for integration with the main speakers.
