The Atalante 7 Evo is a three-way floorstanding speaker from Revival Audio, built around a RASC Evo soft dome tweeter, a RASC Evo dome midrange and a 38 cm (15 inch) BSC woofer. It sits at the top of the brand's range and aims for expansive sound reproduction, intended for installations where space and available electrical power are not limited.
The 28 mm soft dome tweeter incorporates an aluminium rear chamber, a neodymium magnet and optimised ventilation, elements that promote efficient thermal dissipation and a treble response without a rise in distortion. The 75 mm dome midrange features a double suspension and a chamber optimised for cooling, allowing a sustained level to be maintained without audible compression. The 380 mm woofer, built using the Basalt Sandwich Construction process, incorporates a 3 inch voice coil and extended excursion, guaranteeing controlled bass extension even at high level. The AeroVex bass reflex port, with an aluminium flange, is designed to limit air turbulence and therefore port chuffing noise. In terms of measurements, the -6 dB bandwidth extends from 23 Hz to 34 kHz, with crossover frequencies set at 340 Hz and 2.25 kHz between the three drive units. The sensitivity of 90 dB (2.83V/1m) at an impedance of 6 ohms, combined with a power handling of 300 watts, indicates a speaker capable of accepting medium to high power amplifiers.

What to check before buying used
The suspensions of the 380 mm woofer deserve close inspection: foam or rubber that has hardened, cracked or sagged after several years indicates lost elasticity and impaired bass response. The AeroVex port and its aluminium flange should also be inspected, as an impact or poor refitting can generate unwanted chuffing noise. The cabinet, given its weight and floorstanding format, should be checked on the edges and veneer, which are prone to chipping during repeated handling.
