Description
The Sprint 3 from Revival Audio is a 2.5-way bookshelf speaker designed to deliver a precise sound image in a compact format, suited to rooms of 15 to 35 m². It combines a tweeter dedicated to the treble with a midrange/woofer driver covering the rest of the spectrum, with a crossover between the two set at 1.8 kHz.
The upper part of the spectrum is handled by a 28 mm soft dome tweeter featuring ARID (Anti Reflection Inner Dome) technology, designed to limit internal resonances and maintain a linear response. The midrange/woofer relies on an 18 cm driver with a basalt BSC sandwich cone, built to combine lightness, rigidity and damping, with the aim of a fast response and dynamic bass. The baffle incorporates an ELYTRON waveguide made from rigid composite with an asymmetric shape, intended to control directivity and reduce sound diffraction, complemented by a bass reflex port.
This speaker is aimed at an enthusiast wishing to equip a medium-sized living room or office with a compact stereo system, without sacrificing reproduction precision. The single-wiring terminal, compatible with banana plugs and spade connectors, makes it easy to connect to an amplifier or an integrated amplifier suited to the recommended power.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the basalt driver and the tweeter, in particular the absence of deformation or perforation of the soft dome, as well as the secure fit of the removable driver cover. Checking the terminal and its compatibility with the connectors used is recommended, as is an inspection of the sorbothane feet beneath the speaker, which ensure vibration decoupling and may harden or come loose over time. The condition of the baffle veneer and the composite ELYTRON waveguide also deserves particular attention, as these elements directly contribute to controlling sound directivity.
