Description
The REVO SuperCD is an all-in-one music system designed to bring together the main everyday audio sources in a single unit. It combines a disc player compatible with CD, CD-R and CD-RW with FM, DAB/DAB+ and Internet radio tuners, as well as Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity for wireless streaming. The whole system can also be controlled via a dedicated app available on iOS and Android, allowing sources and settings to be managed from a smartphone or tablet.
On the technical side, the unit features 15 watts RMS amplification in Class D, paired with an 8.89 cm BMR (Balanced-Mode-Radiator) type speaker, in a bass reflex loaded enclosure. This type of speaker, designed to spread sound more evenly around the room, is complemented by independent bass and treble controls, allowing the tone to be adjusted according to the source being played or the room's acoustics. An OLED display, which can be switched off, shows playback and navigation information.
In terms of connectivity, the SuperCD offers Bluetooth aptX for higher-quality wireless streaming, DLNA and Spotify Connect compatibility for network listening, as well as memory for 8 favourite stations and a dual alarm clock. On the back, there is a stereo Aux In input, a stereo RCA output, an optical digital audio output and a 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone socket, allowing it to be connected to an amplifier, active speakers or wired headphones.
This type of unit is aimed at those who want to simplify their audio setup without multiplying separate units: fans of traditional and digital radio, CD owners, or users who favour Bluetooth streaming and online services. What to check before buying used
The CD tray and its ejection mechanism deserve a test under real conditions: a scraping noise or skipping playback often indicates a worn optical block, which is costly to replace on this type of compact unit. Also check that the OLED display shows clearly, with no dead pixels or burn-in marks, and that Bluetooth/WiFi connect properly without dropouts. Finally, test the independent bass and treble controls as well as the BMR speaker across the full volume range to rule out any crackling related to the Class D amplification.
