The Roksan Platinum ST1308 is a stereo power amplifier, designed to amplify the signal from a preamplifier and directly drive a pair of speakers. It belongs to the Platinum range from British manufacturer Roksan, dedicated to power electronics intended for separates hi-fi systems.

What to check before buying used
The quadruple power supply relies on four toroidal transformers, which should be checked for any mechanical hum or audible buzzing at idle. The XLR and RCA connectors warrant a visual check of the pins and contact cleanliness, common sources of parasitic noise or channel loss after several years. A load test on both channels, at 8 Ω as well as 4 Ω if possible, allows any power imbalance between the stages to be detected.
