Ruark R3S

The R3S is an all-in-one audio system from Ruark, designed to bring together several listening sources within a single unit: CD player, radio tuners, wireless streaming and wired inputs. It is aimed at those wishing to replace a system made up of several separate components with a single compact unit, without giving up the diversity of musical sources.

Its slot-in CD player accepts audio CDs as well as discs burned in MP3, WMA and AAC up to 320 kbit/s, useful for making use of older digitised collections. Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, which improves sound quality, connection reliability and range while conserving the battery of paired devices, along with direct access to Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music. The 24-bit/192 kHz DAC prepares the unit for any future improvement in audio quality via streaming services. On the reception side, the SmartRadio tuner covers FM RDS, DAB/DAB+ and internet radio, with the ability to store stations and easily switch between sources. The connectivity remains simple: an RCA input, an optical Toslink input, a USB-C port for flash drives and hard drives, as well as a headphones output and a line output that can be used with a subwoofer. The whole system is controlled via infrared remote control or the UNDOK app.

This type of system is aimed at domestic use where space is limited but sound quality still matters: living room, bedroom, kitchen or office. Its refined presentation, with fabric grille, curved cabinet and OLED display, makes it a unit designed to occupy a visible place in a room, while covering the essential everyday audio uses, from CD to streaming to digital radio.
