Description
The Sonance Omni 6T is an outdoor column speaker designed for omnidirectional sound distribution. Its cylindrical shape covers a 360° horizontal and 160° vertical area, making it a suitable solution for sound coverage in open spaces such as gardens, courtyards or pathways, without requiring precise orientation towards the listener.
The speaker features four 32 mm EPDM dome drivers cooled by ferrofluid, paired with a 165 mm polypropylene cone subwoofer with a Santoprene surround. The crossover operates at 500 Hz. The frequency response spans from 60 Hz to 20 kHz at -3 dB, and up to 38 Hz - 25 kHz at -10 dB, delivering a sound reproduction that covers both bass and treble. With a sensitivity of 88 dB and a continuous programme power of 120 W (60 W continuous pink noise), it can deliver a maximum sound level of 107 dB at 1 metre on average, with peaks at 113 dB. The nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a minimum of 6 ohms. A 100 V laminated core transformer offers several power increments (80 W, 40 W, 20 W and 10 W), allowing the output to be adjusted according to the installation setup, including after fitting via an accessible tap adjustment.
Its construction meets Mil Spec 810 standards for moisture resistance, as well as IEC 529 and IP-66 classifications, making it suited to durable outdoor use, both residential and commercial.
This model is aimed at those wishing to provide even sound coverage across an outdoor space without multiplying listening points, whether for a terrace, garden, courtyard or a larger landscaped area. The column format and 360° distribution are particularly well suited to installations where listeners may be positioned in multiple directions around the speaker.

What to check before buying used
On an outdoor column speaker left in place over several seasons, the IP-66 weatherproofing of the connection drawer and cable glands deserves close inspection: a hardened seal or an improperly reclipped ring can let moisture into the 100 V transformer. The ferrofluid-cooled EPDM domes may dry out or lose linearity with age, while the Santoprene surround on the subwoofer cone should remain supple, with no cracking or separation. Also check that the transformer increments (80/40/20/10 W) switch correctly and that the aluminium cylinder shows no signs of galvanic corrosion at the fixing points.
