Description
The Sonance VP52R-UTL is an in-ceiling speaker designed for discreet architectural integration. Its reduced mounting depth allows it to be installed in ceilings where the space available above the false ceiling is limited, without sacrificing listening quality.
The driver combines a 133 mm polypropylene woofer with a rubber surround and a 25 mm ferrofluid-cooled ceramic dome tweeter, housed in a compression chamber. This configuration delivers a claimed frequency response of 75 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with a sensitivity of 89 dB SPL and a nominal impedance of 8 Ω (6 Ω minimum), for a power handling of 80 W. The round grille is supplied as standard, with a square version available as an option to suit different interior styles.
This model is aimed at residential installations where the ceiling's aesthetics must remain as neutral as possible, in living rooms, kitchens or lounges, particularly as part of multiroom systems or ambient sound setups requiring several discreet diffusion points.

What to check before buying used
On this type of in-ceiling speaker, it is worth checking the condition of the polypropylene woofer's suspension, which can stiffen or crack over time, as well as the rubber surround around the woofer. Also check that the ceramic dome tweeter has not suffered any impact during removal, and that the grille (round or square) supplied matches the model correctly, with no deformation or paint marks from a previous installation.
