Description
The Maestro Quantum is a high-resolution connected amplifier from Sonoro, designed to bring together amplification, digital sources and remote control in a single compact unit with a refined design. It is intended for use in the lounge as the central point of an audio installation, with or without external speakers.
The amplification is based on high-efficiency Hypex Class-D modules, delivering 2x180 watts at 4 ohms and 2x110 watts at 8 ohms (0.1% THD), and can drive external speakers with an impedance of 4 to 16 ohms. The 4-inch colour TFT display offers high-resolution graphic display with automatic brightness adjustment, making it easier to navigate menus and sources. In terms of connectivity, the unit features IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax WiFi at 2.4/5 GHz with WEP, WPA2, WPA3 and WPS encryption, as well as two-way Bluetooth, AirPlay and Chromecast for wireless streaming, complemented by wired HDMI, USB, AUX inputs and outputs, Stereo Pre out, Line out and optical and coaxial digital connections. Dirac Live acoustic correction (licence included, 20 to 500 Hz range) allows the sound to be adjusted to the listening room, with equaliser presets optimised for Sonoro speakers and a Dynamic-Bass function.

What to check before buying used
On a connected amplifier of this type, the priority is to check that the TFT display and its automatic brightness function work correctly, as well as the responsiveness of the metal control buttons on the front panel. Also check the stability of the WiFi and Bluetooth connection, recognition of the various sources (HDMI, USB, digital inputs) and correct pairing with the Sonoro app. Testing the audio outputs (Pre out, Line out) and the power output on both channels helps confirm the condition of the internal Hypex amplifiers.
