Sonos In Ceiling 6"

This pair of Sonos in-ceiling speakers, designed in collaboration with Sonance, installs directly into the ceiling for discreet sound diffusion, with no visible speaker presence in the room. These are passive speakers, which therefore require an external amplifier to function, this not being supplied.

The rated power of 60 watts, with a peak of 130 watts, allows a room to be filled with sound without requiring an oversized amplifier. The impedance of 8 ohms and the sensitivity of 85 dB point towards pairing with an amplifier capable of delivering sufficient power to compensate for this moderate sensitivity. The frequency response extends from 44 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the essential part of the audible spectrum with a reasonable low-end extension for speakers of this format.

Paired with a Sonos Amp, these speakers benefit from optimised calibration and give access to Trueplay technology in the Sonos app, which measures the reflection of sound off the walls, furniture and surfaces of the room to adjust the output. The Sonos Amp also allows up to three pairs of Architectural speakers to be controlled in parallel, that is six speakers in total, for sound diffusion spread across multiple zones or reinforced within the same room. The Sonos app also gives access to digital signal processing (DSP) to adjust the equalisation, as well as a volume limiter for consistent volume control.

These speakers are aimed at those who want Sonos multiroom sound diffusion integrated into the architecture of a room, with no visible furniture or speakers, for a living room, kitchen or any space where aesthetics take priority. Their cut-out diameter of 209.6 mm and their dimensions of 235.5 x 120.3 mm require checking the space available above the ceiling before installation.
