Sold in pairs, these Sonos speakers fit directly into the wall cavity. They are passive: unlike the brand's connected speakers, they contain no amplification or internal electronics and must be powered by a Sonos Amp, whose Trueplay calibration then adapts the sound to the room's acoustics, via an iOS device. The grille can be painted to match the wall colour, allowing the installation to blend in once complete.

The design is two-way: a 2.54 cm dome tweeter handles the top of the spectrum, while a 16.5 cm polypropylene midrange/woofer driver takes care of the rest. The stated frequency range extends from 44 Hz to 20 kHz, covering most musical content and soundtracks without systematically requiring a subwoofer, although the very lowest bass remains out of reach. With a sensitivity of 89 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the load remains easy to drive, and the 130 watts power handling leaves a comfortable margin for sustained listening in a living room.
