The Sonos Play is a wireless portable speaker compatible with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, designed to accompany music listening away from a fixed home network while remaining integrable into a Sonos multi-room system. It is easy to carry thanks to its compact format and connects via Wi-Fi streaming as well as Bluetooth depending on the situation.
The speaker houses two Class D digital amplifiers paired with a midrange/woofer driver and a tweeter, a configuration that separates frequencies for stereo reproduction. An automatic acoustic calibration function adjusts the sound according to the listening environment. It is waterproof to the IP67 standard, drop-resistant, and features a replaceable battery offering a stated 24-hour battery life; a wireless charging base is included. Control is via the Sonos app, a voice assistant, or directly using the buttons on the speaker. It supports numerous audio formats, including MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, Apple Lossless and Flac.
