Sonus faber Aida MY 17

With this model, Sonus faber creates a speaker with a character as expansive as a Verdi opera, designed to embody the essence of the brand while marking a break from it. According to the manufacturer, the meeting of heritage and technical advances gives birth to the beauty of a new era: three decades of expertise are condensed within it, extending the lessons learned from the Amati Futura and Guarneri Evolution projects, two stages that deepened the brand's understanding of its own foundations.

The other side of this project lies in innovation: concepts and patents from the "The Sonus faber" range are taken up and further developed here. The system named "Z.V.T." illustrates this approach, with an arched suspension offering controlled output called "Bow Spring". The transducers, entirely designed and manufactured by the brand without compromise on the intended sound objectives, are another illustration of this, as seen with the DAD tweeter featuring an arrow point tip.

Front panel equipment: an H28 XTR-04 tweeter, a 28 mm silk dome by "Arrow Point" DAD; an M18 XTR-04 midrange, a 180 mm neodymium magnet system with a dynamic and linear response; two W22XTR-12 woofers with an iron motor, 220 mm in diameter, front-mounted; and an additional SW32XTR-08 long-throw woofer with an iron motor, 320 mm, positioned on the cabinet.

The rear panel houses a 29XTR2 DAD Arrow Point tweeter measuring 29 mm, along with two M8XTR midranges of 80 mm. The crossover is based on a "Paracross" topology, with crossover points at 55 Hz, 150 Hz, 200 Hz and 3000 Hz. The whole system operates on a full para-aperiodic principle, combined with "Stealth Ultraflex System" technology.
